PistonPaper is an independent review desk for people who read the whole road test, not just the spec sheet.
We started the paper because modern car reviews have become either breathless or bloodless. We wanted something in between: honest notes from behind the wheel, written in plain language, with real prices and a clear verdict at the end.
What we cover
Every week we publish first drives and full reviews across four sections — SUVs & crossovers, sedans & hatchbacks, trucks & vans, and performance & luxury cars. We look at how a car rides on broken pavement, how easy it is to live with, what it really costs to own, and whether it is better than the obvious alternative.
How we review
- Real roads. Impressions come from commuting, highway miles and back roads, not just a closed course.
- Real prices. We quote MSRP and destination as published at the time of writing, and we call out options that matter.
- No paid verdicts. Advertisers and manufacturers never see a review before it is published.
Corrections
